Context 1 - Autumn and Spring 

In our first half of the year, Year 4 will be exploring the context of

'Water World'.

We will be learning about:

- map work (paper and digital); coastal features (Geography)

- states of matter; earth and space (Science)

- Community (RE)

- Colour(Art)

- Boats (DT)

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Tuesday 8th Sept - Year 4 welcome meeting in main hall

Tuesday 15th Sept  - London Aquarium trip

Wednesday 14th Oct - Kookaburras class assembly 

  P.E.   

Year 4 will have P.E. on Wednesday (sports coach) and Friday (class teacher)

Please come to school already dressed in your full P.E. kit on these days.

     Daily Reading     

 Please read with your child every day (for at least 10 minutes) and sign their reading record. This will be checked on a daily basis.

Found below are the Reading Domain Questions to support you in asking your child questions whilst listening to them read every day. These will also be distributed at the Year 4 Curriculum Meeting.

Home Learning

Every Friday children will receive their times tables and spelling homework to complete. Their tests are every THURSDAY.

In Year 4 it is even more important than ever to practice their times tables. The school have purchased Times Table Rockstars which is a programme to help children practice. It is an expectation that they spend 20 minutes per week practicing on this. This can be logged into via the app or webpage on most devices. 

Please speak to your class teacher if your child does not have any access to a device at home to complete this.
