AUTUMN TERM (1)

In our first half of the year, Year 4 will be exploring the context of

'WATER WORLD'.

We will be learning about:

- coastlines; the water cycle (Geography)

- states of matter; Earth and space (Science)

- The Vikings; The Tudors (History)

- how we care for the environment (RE)

- the art of JW Turner and Hans Holbein (Art)

- boat making (inc. sewing) (DT)

And much more...

  P.E.   

Year 4 will have P.E. on Monday (Miss Manning) and Tuesday (class teacher).

Please come to school already dressed in your full P.E. kit on these days.

     Daily Reading     

 Please read with your child every day (for at least 10 minutes) and sign their reading record. This will be checked on a daily basis.

Found below are the Reading Domain Questions to support you in asking your child questions whilst listening to them read every day. These will also be distributed at the Year 4 Curriculum Meeting on Tuesday 10th September 2024.

Home Learning

Every Friday children will receive their times tables and spelling homework to complete and return the following Thursday. 

Every week, children need to spend a minimum of 20 minutes on additional math and literacy learning. This is part of their weekly homework. 

You can use these programs to help with developing your child's mathematical and reading skills.
