Hi year 4, I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. You have been doing some fantastic home learning and it is only a few weeks to go before the summer break.
In Maths this week, we will be learning about money. For today, you will be looking pounds and pence. To make it easy for you to understand, please pay careful attention to the video below and then complete the task. Remember, complete the task then check the answers.
In writing this week, we are going to write persuasive texts. We will continue our link to Eric. Your task for today is to practice using persuasive techniques to build up to persuading Eric later in the week. Check the link below for today's task.
This week, we will continue looking at a range of reading and comprehension skills. Today, we will be focusing on Inferring author's purpose.
Today in Context, you will be looking at natural resources in Benin. For the summer term, we would have compared life in Benin to life in Britain.
1. Look up the meaning of natural resources.
2. Find out where Benin is.
3. Research the major natural resources of Benin.

We will continue to look at persuasive techniques. Look at the power point below and complete the task. This is still a build up to writing a persuasive text by the end of the week.

Today, we are going to look at the strength and volume of sound. You will find out how sound can change in loudness and how you can make it higher or lower (pitch - like in music) Look at the resources below.

Hi guys, now that you have had some practice with money, we will move on to estimate money. Remember, you don't have to worry about it. The video below teach you what to do. The golden rule is to watch the video more than once, especially if you are not very confident.
In writing today, you will be planning to persuade Eric to visit one of the exciting places you have been to this year. Remember, When you plan, you need to use notes and include all the important information. Go through the powerpoint in the resources area and use the planning format that is there.
After this week, you will have developed fantastic inference skills. You will continue to focus on Inferring. Look at the cards in the power point below and then complete the task.
Well done for designing and creating prototypes of your instruments. You are now going to evaluate them and decide on how you will make the final product better.

This Spring term, Year 4 will be exploring the context of 'Cultural Carnival'. They will be learning about:

- Properties and changes of materials
- Geographical Skills & fieldwork
- Investigating the nature of religion & belief
This term in English, we will be reading Cloud Tea Monkeys by Mal Peet & Elspeth Graham.
PE is only on a Tuesday. Please have children wear their kit into school on that day.

Every Friday children will receive their times tables and spelling homework to complete and return the following Wednesday.
Reading Records: Please read with your child everyday and sign.
Every week, children need to spend a minimum of 20 minutes on RM easimaths. This is part of their weekly homework.
