In our first half of the year, Year 4 will be exploring the context of
'CULTURAL CARNIVAL'.
We will be learning about:
- map work (paper and digital); climate zones (Geography)
- properties of materials; sound (Science)
- Sikhism (RE)
- traditional and cultural patterns (Art)
- musical instruments from around the world (DT)

Tuesday 25th Feb – Camping meeting at 3:30 in the hall
Tuesday 4th March – Curriculum/MTC meeting 9:00-10:00 in the hall
Wednesday 5th March – Year 4 trip to Waterstones (letter to follow)
Thursday 6th March – children dressing up for World Book Day (Reading is Magic theme)
Tuesday 25th March – Year 4 trip to Croydon Gurdwara (Siri Guru Singh Sabha, Croydon) (letter to follow)
Tuesday 1st April – Eggs-hibition

P.E.
Year 4 will have P.E. on Monday (Miss Manning) and Tuesday (class teacher).
Please come to school already dressed in your full P.E. kit on these days.
Daily Reading
Please read with your child every day (for at least 10 minutes) and sign their reading record. This will be checked on a daily basis.

Home Learning
Every Friday children will receive their times tables and spelling homework to complete and return the following Thursday.
Every week, children need to spend a minimum of 20 minutes on additional math and literacy learning. This is part of their weekly homework.
You can use these programs to help with developing your child's mathematical and reading skills.
