Year 4 - Kookaburras and Bluebirds
Meet the Year 4 Teachers!
Autumn Term - 'Water World'
What would I find at the bottom of the ocean?
In the Autumn term, we will be exploring everything about water! Students will be writing poetry, investigating a variety of sea creatures and even get to see some of their favourite sea animals at the Sea Life Aquarium. We will also be looking at buoyancy and why some objects sink where as others float. The students will then conduct research about ships and create some paintings of boats against different landscapes. They will look at Turner and how he was able to illustrate boats sailing on water and will be able to see some of his work during our trip to the National Gallery.
Throughout the term we will be focusing on place value including negative numbers, 4 digit numbers and rounding. We also will be looking at basic calculations using all 4 operations and Roman numerals.
PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please have children wear their kit in on Wednesdays and bring it in a bag on Fridays.
