Headteacher's Welcome

Aspire, Persevere, Achieve

Welcome to Aerodrome Primary Academy; a vibrant and exciting learning community.

We are so pleased that you are taking an active interest in our school and encourage you to read further and to book a visit to come and see our vision in practice!

At Aerodrome Primary we strive relentlessly to ensure that all our children enjoy a stimulating and diverse education, are fully active in their learning and achieve to the very best of their ability.

High standards and engagement in learning are the main priorities for the staff and children. We aim for high standards in everything; learning, behaviour, attitudes and commitment whilst ensuring children are excited by their learning opportunities. Our vibrant and welcoming learning environment, both inside and outside, provides the children with an inspiring and welcoming space where they have the freedom and support to develop mentally and physically.

Self-drive is a key skill that we aim to foster in all our learners at Aerodrome. Our personalised curriculum ‘Contexts for Learning’ allows both teachers and children alike to identify and develop their interests within and beyond the parameters of the National Curriculum and to take an active role in developing their own learning journeys.

Children are encouraged to share and utilise their ideas and opinions both in the classroom and within the wider school context. Children in the Early Years and beyond are taught and encouraged to make positive behaviour and learning choices that enable them to flourish.

We aim to develop a learning community where children respect each other and take responsibility for their own behaviour and progress. Our whole school ethos is based on understanding and modelling the values that are essential to developing a harmonious and cohesive learning community.

Developing excellent home school partnerships is a first priority when children join our school. We encourage regular contact between class teachers and parents and will happily meet with parents both informally and by appointment to ensure we develop positive relationships that fully support the children in our care.

Our curriculum is enriched by learning beyond the classroom and the children have many opportunities to enjoy school visits, we also welcome visitors into our school to enhance the curriculum. Outdoor learning and a wide range of extracurricular clubs also provide extended learning experiences for all our children.

We value working in partnerships and have developed an active partnership with ReACH2 academy trust, working with and contributing to the development of schools with a focus on learning from each other.

We'd love to welcome you to our school; visits are encouraged so please make an appointment with us so that we can show you around.
