Welcome to Spring term in Kingfishers and Swans! Kingfisher class context this term is 'Creature Comforts' and Swan's class context is 'Street Life'. Both classes liaise closely with the speech therapist to deliver personalised programmes and learning experiences which link to the children's language needs.

In the Summer term our context for learning will be 'Creature Comforts'. We will be learning about dinosaurs, comparing African animals to farm animals and looking at how these creatures have adapted to survive. We will also be looking at the different habitats these creatures lived in and how they might have changed too.  We will have a few trips linked to these, including:  Crystal Palace Park - Monday 13th May 2019.  The term will be jam packed full of sensory activities to support their learning around this topic.

Swans new Summer context is all about Street life. Our enquiry question will be "Is home where the heart is?" The children will be taking part in a local walk around Waddon and participating in a house and transport survey. In Literacy, the children will be studying exciting new books by Anthony Browne.  In Science, they will be learning about mini beasts which will be further supported by a trip to the Ecology Centre. They will also have the chance to make their favourite mini beast out of clay.  I do hope the children are looking forward to our new topic as much as I am!
