Welcome to Spring term in Kingfishers and Swans! Kingfisher class context this term is 'Explorers' and Swan's class context is 'Mountain High'. Both classes liaise closely with the speech therapist to deliver personalised programmes and learning experiences which link to the children's language needs.
Kingfisher class will be learning about everything to do with exploration! We will be looking at famous explorers such as Christopher Columbus and Captain Cook. We will have a pirate day to help us with our learning all about pirates and we will be exploring different types of vehicles. We will be visiting the Princess Diana memorial gardens. The term will be jam packed full of sensory activities to support their learning around this topic.
Swans new context will be learning all about Mountains and Volcanoes. The children will be building mountains out of different materials and making volcanoes erupt!. This will provide the stimulus for really great writing. In Literacy the children will be studying an exciting new book all about Giants. In Science they will be experimenting with magnets. There will also be fun trips to further support their learning. I do hope the children are looking forward to our new topic as much as I am!
